Our Mission
We aim to bridge the gap in clothing insecurity and contribute to restoring faith in humanity.
At The Give-n-Receive Inc., we operate a Community Pop-up Boutique where gently used clothing and accessories are provided and accepted for people of all genders, ages, and sizes. You can bring your donations to any pop-up boutique or clothing drive, where they will be sorted and included in current and upcoming boutique events. All items are offered to the community at no cost, and there is no obligation to donate in order to receive items for free.

Our Work in the Community
Our goal is to assist underserved communities by serving as a resource. We are arranging private and public pop-up boutiques in Chicago [and surrounding areas] in which we accept and provide free, gently used clothing and accessories for all genders, ages, and sizes. Moreover, we aim to highlight local businesses that emphasize community service and inclusivity.

The History
One Woman's Vision
Established in 2024 by Marisa Ikpoh, The Give-n-Receive was a mission originally put on her heart in 2018. However, lacking in confidence and connections, Marisa decided the notion would remain in her heart. Then in late 2023, the notion resurfaced again with even MORE direction and inspiration. Yet again, she allowed her fear to override her faith. She told herself all of the reasons she could never bring such a project to fruition and once again did nothing.
In January of 2024, Marisa heard a clear directive from GOD telling her it was time to move forward with the mission. In strict obedience, she began pulling things together and booked FIVE events within 2 weeks! She was excited but terrified, as she had NO CLOTHES to offer and her first pop-up was scheduled for 2 weeks!
She followed the additional directive to, "tell everyone", and began speaking life into the mission with people in her dance classes [Zumba and belly dance]. Within a week she found herself surrounded by clothing donations for all sizes, ages and genders! Her faith was overriding her fear for the first time!
Marisa now finds herself entering worlds she never imagined with confidence and cheer. The Give-n-Receive books out for an entire year within 2 months, with Networking and growth opportunities being limitless. She carries the flag of The Give-n-Receive in her heart and is determined to continue forward to reach as many people as possible. When it comes to limits, the sky is just the beginning.

Our mission and vision revolve around making a profound impact within the community by supporting those who are frequently neglected. To uphold this commitment, we plan to allocate 50% of our pop-ups and boutique locations to private events that cater to the most vulnerable groups. This encompasses, but is not restricted to:
- Abuse Survivors
- Refugees
- Homeless Communities
- Senior Centers
- Those affected by emergencies

We recognize that the challenging economy has placed many in difficult situations, leading to sacrifices. Clothing is often one of the first things to go as it's deemed non-essential. This is one of the driving forces behind the creation of The Give-n-Receive initiative.

Where do I donate clothes?

Do you wash the clothes?
No. Please be aware that donation sources cannot be guaranteed as smoke, pet free or otherwise.
How does this all work?
Bring your donations to any pop-up boutique or clothing drive. Items are sorted and added to racks on site [or retained for future boutiques]. Shop for FREE!
NOTE: You do NOT have to give [donate] in order to receive [shop].
Do you accept shoes, toys, or housewares?
No. We do not have the capacity. Clothing and accessories only.
Is this for women only?
No. We offer and accept clothing and accessories for ALL genders, ages, and sizes.
Are there any fees for events?
All pop-up boutiques are completely FREE to the Public.
Do I need a ticket to attend?
Most events do NOT require tickets, unless otherwise noted.
Do I HAVE to donate in order to shop?
Not at all. You don't have to contribute a thing. Come shop for FREE!

Do you accept/ offer undergarments?
No. Sure to space restrictions, we are unable to offer or accept undergarments UNLESS they are brand new WITH tags.
